Pretense
Is it possible to work with no
Hope of a return gift?
Am I able to lay aside my
Self-interest?
Do I really think that I
Can be a perpetual altruist?

Focused with no
Hope 'cause
I don't wish to bring
Gazes upon me.
I don't to work
Where I'll be seen.
I don't try to fit
Into some noticeable theme.

But still,
I look over my shoulder anyway.

I'm so ashamed.
